No. You upload a zip in Ghost admin and configure everything else from the theme settings panel — colours, layout density, editions, ad slots, membership copy. Every setting is documented publicly before you buy.
That is what lifetime updates are for. Each theme is re-verified against new Ghost releases with GScan and updated when the platform moves. There is no renewal to let lapse, and no framework underneath that can go unmaintained.
Both themes run as full public demos with real content — not a screenshot reel. Read an article, hit a paywall, open the archive, resize your window. There is also a 14-day guarantee if the fit turns out wrong.
One purchase covers one live publication, plus any staging or development copies of that same site. Running a second publication needs a second licence. The full terms are on the licence page.
